Greg Locke, a self-proclaimed \u201cChristian\u201d preacher, founded \u201cGlobal Vision Baptist Church\u201d in Mount Juliet, Tennessee (USA) on November 5, 2006. Today, the church is known as \u201cGlobal Vision Bible Church.\u201d Unlike traditional churches, Locke runs this church without congregational votes or the oversight of a board of deacons or trustees, yet the IRS has granted it tax-exempt status. I think all churches should pay taxes, but that this lunatic got exempt status is mind-blowing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


His website states that Locke is a \u201crevivalist\u201d with a \u201cfirebrand social media following because of his boldness for truth.\u201d Like other right-wing evangelical preachers in the U.S., Locke doesn\u2019t shy away from his strong political views, particularly his support for former U.S. President Donald Trump, his open dislike for Democrats, his anti-LGBTQ+ stance, and his contempt for other religions, especially Islam. Locke was also outspoken in his opposition to accepting the results of the U.S. presidential elections. He urged his followers not to take the COVID-19 threat seriously – often inserting biblical rhetoric to justify his political views.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


With a significant online following of 2.2 million on Facebook, Locke\u2019s actions and words get attention. In September 2021, he was permanently banned from Twitter for spreading Covid vaccine misinformation. He described the vaccine as \u201csugar water<\/em>\u201d and said he\u2019d turn away churchgoers if they wore masks to his services. Locke\u2019s divisive rhetoric targets political views differing from his own and includes abused women, even within his own family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Locke once made headlines by leading a book burning targeting \u201cHarry Potter\u201d and \u201cTwilight\u201d series books and merchandise featuring Disney characters. Such actions are deplorable in the 21st century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite his strong opinions, Locke avoids addressing the Bible\u2019s graphic violence against innocent individuals, including the dismemberment of women, slaughtering of children, and gang rape by soldiers. Imagine that \u2013 a cherry-picking Christian. \ud83d\ude44<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further raising concerns, Locke attended the January 6, 2021, Insurrection at the National Capitol and gave a violent prayer at a pro-Trump rally. His association with the right-wing \u201cProud Boys<\/em>\u201d domestic terrorist group (he calls them his \u201csecurity<\/em>,\u201d and his controversial marriage history further show this \u201cman of god\u2019s\u201d true character and motives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Greg Locke\u2019s actions and rhetoric deviate from the teachings of Jesus Christ, advocating for love, unity, and understanding. Instead, Locke uses religion as a guise for promoting hatred towards those with differing views from his own. Another clown is hiding behind a Bible. \ud83d\ude44<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While Locke may have a devoted following, it is crucial to question the messages of hate and extremism he spreads. His rhetoric threatens the United States\u2019 domestic security, and his divisive approach is contrary to the universal love and teachings of Jesus Christ. It\u2019s easy to dismiss people like this as delusional clowns, but people listen to people like him. He has over 2 million followers on Facebook. Granted, a number of those are there to troll him and dispute him, but many people are taking his nonsense to heart. They must be taken seriously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
